We count on your donations to continue our life-saving work. As a non-profit organization with no paid staff members, our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly on behalf of local animals. And our efforts are paying off. Our innovative programs have been credited with reducing the number of animals who are euthanized at our local animal control facility. PLEASE NOTE:
The shelter will be closed from 9/4-9/6 and will reopen on 9/7.
Foster animals can be seen by appointment.

To inquire about a pet, call one of the following depending on where the animal is located.

Animals in Animal Advocates Rescue Program have no number preceeding their name and are listed as in foster care: 410.880.2488 ext #3

:: HoCo Animal Control and Adoption Facility Information
Howard County Animal Control is the County's center for pet adoption. It is located in the large red brick building with a green roof on the right on Davis Road (past the Animal Welfare Building, with which we are not affiliated).

:: Adoption Hours
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday | 10:00 am - 4:30pm
Tuesday Adoption Hours | 1:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Saturdays | 10 a.m - 2:00pm

Important note about Saturday Shelter Hours:
When the Howard County Government offices are closed on a Friday, the shelter will be closed that Saturday. When the Howard County Government offices are closed on a Monday, the shelter is closed the preceding Saturday

Howard County has a NEW Policy!
All animals adopted from Howard County Animal Control will be microchipped for free at the time of their adoption.

Fecal Check $8 | Bath for Dogs Only $35

All Howard County residents who adopt an animal over four months of age must purchase a current license. The cost is $6.
