Beautiful and bashful, Jewel has a story to tell us. As a baby, Jewel was separated from her family when they were no longer able to keep her. This was 4 years ago. Then Jewel found herself left on a bench, abandoned in a carrier with a bowl of food in the freezing cold!  She was so scared and didn’t understand where she was.

We took Jewel in and gave her a warm, soft bed and a hiding box. This sweet girl is afraid when we go to pet her and she doesn’t understand what is happening. Once you pet her quietly, you can see her relax her head and she will rub on your hand with her cheek. She has an adorable and sweet personality if you give her time to get used to you.  New sounds and fast movements make her nervous, so she will appreciate a bedroom of her own at first until she gets used to the sounds in your home. She would be most comfortable in an adult home or a home with quiet, older children who understand to go slow around her.  Jewel is a little, dainty cat and with some time and love, she will get used to her new home and rescuer. Jewel is already spayed and 4yrs old.
