Papaya is a medium sized bird looking for a special home. Papaya is a Sun Conure and we are not sure if Papaya is a male or a female. Some sites require a gender, so we are going to call Papaya a female. We do not know her age, however Sun Conures are known to live 20-30 years and sometimes longer.

Papaya is looking for a home with adults who are familiar with birds that are not used to being handled. Papaya is untrusting of people and this means she uses her beak to get you to back away. Yes, she will bite but we don’t blame her. This little beauty came from a home where she was confiscated along with many other animals due to the conditions of their environment. She has been waiting at the shelter for over 3 years for a litigation appeal process and she can finally go to a home. Papaya deserves the best chance in a home where she can learn to trust you.
