Cashew is a beautifully colored adult Cockatiel who has brightened our lobby at our front desk.  He has a lot of personality and is happy to be near people.  He loves his big cage and enjoys whistling and singing to us in the morning. When he is happy, he just talks and sings to you.  Cashew is afraid when meeting new people, so he will need some time to get to know someone new before he will trust you.  If you stand away from his cage and talk to him, he gets very curious.  After a few visits, he remembers you and if you cat calm and sweet he will start singing to you.
Cockatiels are known for being very loud when they want attention, so Scully would not be a good match for someone in an apartment, townhouse or condo. They want to be with their people and do not like to be left alone for extended periods of time. Cashew didn’t get along with a male bird he used to live with.  If you have another bird at home, he would need a separate cage and time to get used to them.  A female bird might be the best match for him.  If you have any questions about Cockatiel care, feel free to call our adoption coordinator, Jessica, at 410-313-2780 ext. o.
