Sweet, sensitive and loyal, this Doberman mix is looking for someone special. This is Roscoe. He is just a puppy at 7 months old. Roscoe is a bashful boy in many situations and has been known to be worried about new sounds too.  He is doing very well in his socialization and needs a dog savvy person who is already familiar with dog behavior. If you are patient and go slow, giving him a moment to assess the new sound or situation, he will generally get curious of it. It will be important to protect him from loud people and excited situations. Roscoe needs time to learn to trust someone new, but once he does, he wants to be at your side and he awaits instructions.  He falls asleep right at your feet. Once you gain his trust, he likes to play and this is really good for him. He is nervous with handling, so he needs a confident, gentle person who will get him used to you touching him all over. He does well when you coax him into a game and you will see him start to get silly and more comfortable while you pick up his leg, look in his ear and handle him.  He is very smart and lives to be your shadow. Roscoe is not used to other dogs and needs a slow introduction. Rambunctious dogs tend to scare him. He met a small dog recently and was very happy to be around that dog. He interacted very well and almost wanted to play. Roscoe has been very gentle and if he puts his mouth on you to play and you say “ouch!” he stops. He is a smart boy and we are looking for a committed family or person who has time to continue his training and socializing. We are looking for an adult home or a home with older children who understand to recognize his behaviors.  With the proper training, he will blossom into a wonderful, loyal companion.
