Here is the March 23 statement from Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center:
"Howard County Animal Control is closed to the public. Animal adoptions are being suspended until further notice. If you have an animal-related emergency, such as a cruelty in-progress, an animal bite or a sick or injured animal, please call Howard County Central Communications at 410-313-2200. If you have a lost pet, would like to report a dead deer or any other non-emergency animal related concern, please e-mail email@example.com. Rest assured that the animals currently in our center are being well cared for. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, animals and the public."

Animals in Animal Advocates Rescue Program have no number preceeding their name and are listed as in foster care; please use their name when inquiring: 410.880.2488 ext #3
Neither Animal Control nor Animal Advocates are associated with the Howard County Animal Welfare Society, or with any other organization using the term "Animal Advocates" in their name.

Howard County Animal Control is the County's center for pet adoption. It is located in the large red brick building with a green roof on the right on Davis Road (past the Animal Welfare Building, with whom we are not affiliated).

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday | 10:00 am - 4:30pm
Tuesday Adoption Hours | 1:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Saturdays | 10 a.m - 2:00pm
Important notes about Shelter Hours:
Fridays: The shelter closes approximately 2 hours early the last Friday of the month; please call to be sure the shelter is open if you plan to visit on the last Friday of the month.
Saturdays: When the Howard County Government offices are closed on a Friday, the shelter will be closed that Saturday. When the Howard County Government offices are closed on a Monday, the shelter is closed the preceding Saturday

***GREAT NEWS*** All animals adopted from Howard County Animal Control will be microchipped for free at the time of their adoption. Charges (for shelter animals only) are as follows:

All Howard County residents who adopt an animal over four months of age must purchase a current license. The cost is $6.
$5 RABIES VACCINE CLINIC is held the 3rd Thursday of each month from 12 noon to 1:30pm. $5 cash or check only.
