This handsome hunk is Shamu. Shamu is a 1 year old male Mastiff mix. Playful, silly, and active; Shamu will do best with a dog savvy family that is used to large breed dogs. Shamu does well with some of the dogs here at the shelter. It is highly recommended for you to bring your dog in to meet him if you already have a resident dog in the home. Shamu’s forever family will be required to take him to obedience classes once he is adopted so he can continue to work on his manners. At only one year of age, Shamu is still very puppy like and will benefit from the training classes. Shamu came to the shelter as a stray so it is unknown how he will do in a home with cats or children. Visit the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center during animal viewing hours to begin the adoption process on Shamu!
