Your Donation Saves Lives!
We count on your donations to continue our life-saving work. As a non-profit organization with no paid staff members, our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly on behalf of local animals. And our efforts are paying off. Our innovative programs have been credited with reducing the number of animals who are euthanized at our local animal control facility. Our dream is that one day, no adoptable animals will be killed in area shelters. We thank you for helping us realize this dream.Visit the donation page to see where your money goes.

If you are looking for a dog to do some fast-paced training classes and daily exercising then look no further. This is Freya and she will try to be two steps ahead of you if you let her. :0) Freya is an 8 month old Belgian Malinois mix. She is gorgeous and has very soft fur. Freya’s brain is quick and looking for new jobs to do.  She would be most successful in an adult home with people who have recent experience training working dog breeds in the last three years. She needs practice daily working on her puppy manners and needs someone who is quick to prevent her from getting too out of control with her silliness. She is rough and is used to using her mouth on people to get what she wants. It is important to be firm but calm because excitement gets her going.  She loves to play and run in the yard. She would really benefit from a large fenced yard. Freya is very affectionate once she gets used to you and will enjoy climbing into your lap. She can be unsure in new situations and may need a slow introduction. She alert barks at things that scare her, so she needs someone who can be confident and calm to show her you have the situation under control. Her bark is very loud and it would be best that she go to a single home not attached to your neighbor. (No apartments/condos/townhomes)

She is curious and loves to use her nose. She has not had good experiences with other dogs so Freya needs a slow and calm introduction to give her time to get used to the other dog being near her. She is a rough player and was too rough with cats.  If you have a dog at home, you can bring them by the shelter to see if Freya will be comfortable or not. Freya has done very well waiting to go potty outside and she is used to having someone home during the day. She knows sit, down, stay, come here, jump and off.  She needs to be supervised in a fenced yard at all times, as her brain gets the better of her feet and she will dig under the fence.  She likes to go with you and enjoys car rides.

We are accepting applications for Freya at this time as we are looking for a home that will be the right fit for her training needs. Applications will be evaluated and approved by a supervisor.

Our shelter is now open for visiting adoptable animals during our animal viewing hours:
Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri 10:00-4:30
Tues 1:30-7:00
Closed on Sat, Sun and County observed Holidays.
