Papi is looking for a very special home. He is a shy, sweet little Chihuahua mix who is still getting used to meeting new people. Papi remembers something scary if we move our hands too quickly around him or if you raise your voice to him. He needs you to teach him that he can trust you. Papi will use his mouth on you to let you know he wants you to stop doing something. For this reason, he would do best in an adult home or a home with older teenagers who can be part of his training. He is only 8lbs and still just a puppy at 8 months old. He needs someone to use positive training to show him how to gain confidence. It will take patience and some extra training in the beginning, but he is really smart and loves to learn. Use a treat, tell him sit and he just loves to hear “Good boy!” Once you give him some time to get to know you, he likes to be held and cuddle. He wants to be close to you and gives kisses too.  He likes to run around and try to get a squeaky or crinkle toy. Papi is used to waiting in his crate when left alone because he is still just a puppy and likes to explore. He is working on learning to wait to go potty outside and will need you to keep him on a leash at first and take him outside often so he can learn how good he is when he goes potty outside. He does great if you let him outside often and praise him when he goes outside.  Papi likes other dogs and is ready to go through his puppy training classes.
