This handsome boy is Harker. He is a neutered male, Golden Retriever and Poodle mix who is a happy dog. He is loyal and listens well if you are consistent in your training. Harker likes to carry around a toy, likes to go for walks and is very food motivated for training. He knows his name, comes when called and knows sit, down, give paw and speak. If he pulls on the leash, you can tell him "easy" and he will stop.  He is a sweet, medium height boy who weighs 80lbs. Harker is friendly and outgoing, likes to meet people. After his exercise, he will lay down and chill out next to you while you work or relax. He enjoys when you toss his toy for him. He is laid back and is not a demanding dog. He has a cute personality and is very endearing when he brings you his toy to say hi, laying his head in your lap.

Harker was visited by a child who he got along with and he lived with a female dog who he got along with very well. Harker has been introduced successfully to dogs with us at the shelter, however, he previously had a tense relationship with a male dog in his past so he needs a confident owner to tell him to “leave it” if another dog barks at him. He prefers to interact with female dogs. Harker has done very well waiting to go potty until you take him outside and he will whine to go out. He has also been trusted alone in the house. Daily walks and playing inside or in a yard are enough exercise for Harker. He gets silly sometimes in the house but is fairly laid back inside. He is very good in the car and he enjoys hiking and exploring. He plays with bouncy balls and likes to rub his back on the floor when he is feeling silly. He is good for his baths and needs to be brushed and professionally groomed to keep his coat healthy. If you are looking for a happy companion come on by to meet this handsome guy.
