Deno is a 2yr old Chihuahua and Yorkie mix. His birthday is this week, so he is hoping to find a home for his birthday. Deno has been around people that were not gentle and he is cautious with new people. If you sit quietly and talk to him, he will eventually come over to say hi. He attaches quickly and remembers his people. Deno may be almost 3yrs old but he is still like a little puppy. He needs his basic training and is hoping to find someone with time and patience to show him gently. He needs taken outside often to help him learn to go potty outside. He would benefit from a belly band to remind him to hold it until you take him outside. Deno is a tiny, darling little boy and he has lived in situations where he has had to be scared of people and he thinks he has to defend himself. This means he needs someone who will show him that he is safe and he can watch you instead of defending himself. Deno is precious and if you have some extra patience and time, he will be a lovely companion.  Deno needs an adult only home or a home with older teenagers that can be a part of his training.  He lived with a cat and got along fine. He also barks when he hears something outside the door, so he may also be best in a single home where your neighbors are not attached to your home. Deno is smart and talented. He just needs you to show him how fun life can be. He can open water bottles by himself to get a drink out of them.
