Anaugi is a young Iguana that was brought to the shelter after he was found running loose in a citizen’s backyard. He is just over 2 feet long and has more growing to do.  We cannot be sure of his gender but he appears to be a male. Anaugi is very curious and loves to run, jump and explore. He has quite a personality and has allowed us to handle him. Anaugi needs a calm and confident adopter; one experienced with Iguanas. He will need a reptile proof area that will safely keep him contained so he can run and get exercise inside.  If you are calm, gentle and hold him correctly, he will allow you to carry him around.  He responds to gentle touch and even fell asleep while he was being gently pet. Anaugi will display his beard and get defensive if you move to fast toward him. Since he is quick to run off, you have to keep an eye on him when outside of his enclosure. His coloring is stunning and bright too. Iguanas get rather large when full grown and you will need a large enough enclosure for him as he grows so he can stretch and move around.  Once you gain Anaugi’s trust, he will enjoy his daily exercise out of his habitat.
