This beautiful 60lb puppy is Ellen. She has a slim look about her and is a German Shepherd puppy maybe with some Malinois in her too. She is around 9 months old and is active, willful and smart. Ellen is ready to take on the world and needs a good leader to show her she can relax and play. She likes to run and would benefit from a large fenced yard or an active person who likes to explore so you can wear her out. She is mouthy and learning to play with her toys instead of our hands. She will also mouth your hand if you she wants something. She would do best in an adult home or a home with older teenagers who can be part of her training. Ellen is obedient and if you show her what you want her to do, she will listen to firm verbal commands. She can be unsure in some situations and may need a moment to collect her gumption. She likes to have a job and she likes to hear “Good girl”. She has met a couple dogs here, however she is very rough in her interactions and will need to be matched up with the right dog or be the only dog in her home. She might do well with a male dog that is tolerant and non-challenging. If you have a male dog at home, you can bring him into the shelter during our animal viewing hours below to see if Ellen will accept them.
