This adorable little guy is Jazz. He is a 19lb Miniature Schnauzer mix who is 2yrs old. Jazz is in need of a kind person who is also confident around a strong dog.  Right now, Jazz needs you to introduce yourself to him gently to get him to come over to say hi. He is smart and learning quickly that he can trust us.

Once he knows you, Jazz is silly and enjoys playing with you or another dog. He likes to run and play chase. Jazz is vocal and may not be a good match for a townhome/apt/condo. He will bark if he hears people outside. Jazz used to live with a female dog who he was quite attached to. If you have a female dog at home, you can bring her by to meet Jazz and see if they will be a good match. Jazz does well waiting at home in his dog crate when you leave. He will go potty when you take him outside and has done well being left up to 8 hours at home. Jazz is not comfortable with car rides and prefers to take walks around the neighborhood or at the local park instead. He needs leash training to help him understand that he does not need to protect you when you go for a walk. His thought is to bark. Jazz is a very smart boy and if you spend some time bonding and training him, he listens very well if you are consistent.

Due to Jazz's nervousness, he may not be the best match for a home with small children. He also would do best in a home with someone who knows how to read his behavior to help him learn what to do on a walk.
